WHAT ARE OTHER STUDENTS SAYING

ABOUT OUR COMEDY JAPANESE COURSE?

Comedy Japanese - James Testimonial

« ComedyJapanese 101 is a uniquely brilliant take on learning a second language. It has helped me to retain Japanese in a way I didn't think I could, and the videos are funny to boot. I especially love doing the subtitle free challenge now, and I am feeling more confident in my Japanese comprehension. »

James - English Teacher in Japan

Comedy Japanese - Taylor Testimonial

« ComedyJapanese 101 takes the unoriginal boring language curriculum and flips it on its head! Learning any language is frustrating and Japanese is no exception. However, unlike other curriculums, none come close to the interest and engagement of ComedyJapanese 101. It feels less like "coursework" and more like being a part of the story conversations. Give yourself a break from Japanese textbooks and be a part of something entertaining! »

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

About the Course

How is ComedyJapanese™ different from other online Japanese courses?

ComedyJapanese™ ditches the traditional, boring language curriculum and instead teaches you Japanese by immersing you in an engaging romantic comedy.

I am a complete beginner in Japanese. Is this course right for me?

Yes, we believe this method works for learners who like to be entertained! You will be guided step by step from the basics of Japanese all the way to more advanced grammar you need to speak proficiently.

I am an intermediate/advanced student of Japanese. Is this course for me?

Our course is designed for beginners, so if you are an intermediate/advanced student, you may not benefit as much from our course as a beginner. You can have a look at our course curriculum here, and decide if our course is right for you.

What level of Japanese can I expect after I take the course?

Take a look at the course curriculum here to get a feel for what you will be able to achieve if you join the course.

How is the Course structured?

The course is comprised of 12 units, and each unit has 5 lessons (Story & Breakdown, Vocabulary, Speaking Quiz, Kanji, No-subtitle Challenge) and a bonus section. Each unit includes pre-recorded videos featuring native Japanese speakers. You can have a look at the full course curriculum here.

Do I have to start the courses at a certain date or time?

No! You can start the courses whenever you’d like!

Is there a time limit to finish the course?

You can take as long as you need to complete the course, but remember that persistence and consistency are key to learning any language. If you take long breaks between study sessions, your progress may stall or even regress, but you’ll see noticeable improvement with as little as 30 minutes of study a day.

How long is each lesson?

If you engage seriously with all the activities, each lesson will take about 30 to 40 minutes.

Do you have any study tips?

In order to truly absorb and master a language, review is just as, if not more, important than learning new grammar or vocabulary. Make sure that you are not only watching the lessons, but completing all the activities and going back to review past lessons. A great approach is to do two lessons during the week (Monday and Thursday for example) then review those two lessons along with past lessons over the weekend.

I am stuck... Can I get some help from a teacher?

Yes! You can comment publicly or privately on the lessons you’re struggling with and a teacher will get back to you with explanations or advice.

How can I contact you in case I have a question?

You can contact us by using the Contact Us form.

Can I take a trial lesson?

There is no trial lesson available, but don't forget there is a 30-day refund policy. You can also download form free some study tips and a Hiragana Course.

What do I need to prepare for the lessons?

Please have a computer, tablet, or smartphone ready. As long as you have an internet connection, you can access the online course. You don't need a microphone, webcam, or textbooks. It's up to you if you want to print online materials or take notes on a notebook or computer.

Are there private or group lessons available?

No, there are no private or group lessons.

Will I receive a digital certificate upon course completion?

No. Unfortunately, we don't offer any digital certificate yet.
